Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer Watercolour Pencils are excellent for sketching or for mixed media applications. These artist quality watercolour pencils contain the highest quality pigments, selected for lightfastness and brilliance.

These pencils are water-soluble when wet and blend beautifully. The thick 3.8 mm leads are cased in California cedar with a special bonding agent, to minimize breakage while providing sharp fine lines and excellent point retention.

The set of 24 includes: 101 White, 104 Light Yellow Glaze, 107 Cadmium Yellow, 109 Dark Chrome Yellow, 115 Dark Cadmium Orange, 121 Pale Geranium Lake, 219 Deep Scarlet Red, 225 Dark Red, 151 Helioblue-Reddish, 133 Magenta, 120 Ultramarine, 140 Light Ultramarine, 264 Dark Phthalo Green, 110 Phthalo Blue, 163 Emerald Green, 168 Earth Green Yellowish, 171 Light Green, 190 Venetian Red, 187 Burnt Ochre, 180 Raw Umber, 177 Walnut Brown, 274 Warm Grey V, 271 Warm Grey II, 199 Black.

Albrecht Dürer Watercolour Pencil Set of 24

I am still learning how to best use these pencils, so the 3-star rating might not be fair. I am a drawer as opposed to painter, so I am presently using them more for colour as I finish drawing, and so far I find them a bit pale, even after adding water. Maybe using them earlier in the process, and maybe adding some intense colours from other media after that to finish things off might be the way to get the best out of them.... It's about the journey, right?
