Bold Adventures is a summer campaign that invites artists to create outdoors and celebrate art in the wild. The Plein Air Challenge is part of this experience—it’s your chance to share your outdoor artwork and enter to win weekly prizes by participating in our community events or posting your art.

You can participate in a variety of events or go out on your own from June 2,2025 to July 31, 2025.

You have two options:

1. Post your artwork to Instagram using #OpusPleinAirChallenge and tag @opusartsupplies.
   
2. Prefer not to post publicly? Use our submission form here to upload your image directly to the gallery.
   

Each week, every Opus store will draw a winner from participants who attended events at their local store or purchased over $100. Our head office will also conduct a weekly draw for qualifying orders placed online and for entries to the gallery.

Plus, everyone who enters is eligible for a grand prize valued up to $1000, announced after the challenge ends.

Any artwork made outdoors or inspired by your outdoor adventures is welcome! Paintings, drawings, mixed media, urban sketching—you name it. The key is that it’s made boldly and beyond the studio.

At this time, we’re only monitoring Instagram for hashtag entries. If you don’t use Instagram, we recommend submitting your work through our online form so we can include it in the challenge.

Absolutely! While prizes are only available to residents of Canada and must be picked up from an Opus store, artists from around the world are welcome to share their creations and be featured in our gallery.
