About our theme, Materials At Work

As artists, our creative journeys are intimately intertwined with the materials we choose to work with. These raw substances, in our skilled hands, undergo a transformative process, giving birth to intricate and evocative creations that resonate deeply within the human consciousness - engaging our senses, stirring our emotions, and sparking profound thoughts. This is the essence of living a creative life.

Every artist knows about that elusive state of flow, where our materials become extensions of our very being. We intimately understand their textures, their capabilities, and their idiosyncrasies. They become our trusted companions, guiding us through the creative process and allowing us to channel our innermost visions into tangible forms. This passionate connection between artist and material fuels our artistic journey, enabling us to communicate our unique perspectives with clarity and depth. However, the path to creative mastery is not linear or predictable.

From student to professional, it is a journey of exploration and experimentation, where we venture into uncharted territory and discover new tools and materials that unlock unforeseen creative pathways. These unexpected encounters breathe fresh life into our artistic practice, challenging us to push boundaries, embrace innovation, and forge new artistic directions. Join us as we engage in conversations with artists who exemplify the essence of living a creative life. Through their experiences, insights, and personal journeys, we will uncover the transformative power of materials and delve into the captivating realm of artistic alchemy.
