Opus is a network of creative individuals. Many of our employees are artists themselves, eager to share expert advice and indispensable product insight. Our articles, interviews, how-to guides, in-store and online events and demos offer invaluable information, artist to artist. You can showcase your work in our Virtual Galleries and stay locally informed through our Creative Community Hub.

Companies like ours have an important role to play in helping the many non-profit organisations which operate on little or no funding. Through our Community Support & Donations Program, Opus assists charitable groups, societies and schools pursuing visual art and art education initiatives in their communities across British Columbia.

Opus was founded by David van Berckel, as a little picture frame manufacturer in 1974, and is still an independently-owned, globally-connected local business. His company philosophy ‘small is beautiful’ remains at our core.

Whatever your medium, Opus provides quality materials, inspiration and assistance to help you realise your creative endeavours. We help you preserve and present your artwork and digital prints with ready-made or custom frames assembled to your specifications. We began as a framing company, are experts in the field, and we now provide one-on-one consultation.
