These stretchers are available in three sizes to correspond to eighth-, quarter-, and half-sheet formats of standard-sized watercolour paper. They are made of flat 3/16" plywood mounted on a stretcher bar frame. They can be used as is, or you can apply a wash of varnish to seal the surface against water. The moistened paper can be stapled or tacked on either the back or the side of the frame, depending on your preference. The flat wood surface also doubles as a support for painting.
