Green Easy Cut Lino Blocks
Easy to carve and easy to see your image before printing! Green Easy Cut Blocks offer a soft, block printing surface that carves away to a lighter green, revealing the mirror image of your print.
Use these thin 3̵mm (⅛″) flexible sheets on a printing press or by applying pressure with a baren or similar tool to create your relief print.
Available in 9″̵×̵12″.
Customers praised these lino blocks for being "easy to cut" and carving "like butter." The material maintains precision while being soft enough for detailed work, ideal for jigsaw prints and curvy lines. Some noted an initial odor that dissipates. Minor issues include contrast visibility and tools occasionally cutting deeper than intended on long strokes.
- They slide through these blocks like butter. Easy to repair if your hand slips and you make a mistake.
- Very easy to carve. It glides through it like butter. Really good for jigsaw prints.
- Easy to cut, and I can get upwards of 75 images from the same plate. Very easy to clean as well.
I want to show you my first Lino print I made with this product. It is so good that I look like a master.
This is my favorite surface to carve. I have a set of Pfeil lino carving knives and they slide through these things blocks like butter 👌
They don't crumble, are easy to repair if your hand slips and you make a mistake, and they are sturdy enough to use for extended print runs ♥️
Arrived safely, well packed and separate from my paper order. Cant wait to see how this compares to traditional lino.
Super thankful that Opus delivers to Atlantic Canada and for free over a certain amount! In my location, art stores are nonexistent so ordering can be very expensive, but Opus makes ordering easy and much less expensive. For many years, I used to order from a well-known Ontario art store but their offerings have greatly declined (at least, for online orders). Great service from Opus, will be a repeat customer!
...and still love them. They do emit a bit of odor when first opened, but I put mine out of the deck for a few hours and the smell dissipates... I can sometimes carve both sides of the plate as well, and it is easy to cut, and I can get upwards of 75 images from the same plate - using Speedball water based inks with retarder and/or extender. Very easy to clean as well...
A bit stinky but very easy to carve. I use speedball lino cutters and it glides through it like butter. It's really good for jigsaw prints and doing curvy lines.
This is a great product for quick carves; keeps its shape, endures cleaning with mild soap and water; holds ink quite well; stores easily.
These blocks are easy to work with while maintaining precision cutting that you sometimes lose with softer material. A problem is contrast; a graphite transfer isn't very clear and sharpies have hazy strokes. Also, tools have a tendency to tow in on long strokes and make the carving much deeper than intended so something to keep an eye on. If I could wish for one thing, it would be that it was made of two coloured layers to give a visual indication for carving depth and helpful contrast.
Green Easy Cut Lino Blocks
Loved it! I used a stencil to mark the surface and then carved like usual Pleasant sensation under the gauge
