Watercolours: Breaking the Rules with Angela Fehr
About This Experience
Paintings come alive when artists take risks and break a few rules! In this live stream video session, Angela Fehr will demonstrate new techniques she has discovered through playful, experimental watercolour painting. Angela will show some easy warm-up techniques that are powerful skill builders and encourage a loose and fluid approach to watercolour. She will share how experimenting with supplies (including at least one you may never have considered for watercolour before) has helped her paint more abstractly and intuitively. If you struggle to let go of control and play with watercolour more freely, this session will inspire and encourage you!

About Your Host

Living in rural northern British Columbia, Canada, Angela Fehr’s art turned a corner from rigid perfectionism to freedom and fluidity as she learned to trust the medium and pour love and presence into her paintings. In 2012, Angela began sharing what she’d learned about watercolor’s beautiful and unpredictable characteristics on YouTube and in online classes, teaching thousands of other artists how to find their own artistic freedom.
Angela’s approach to watercolour prioritizes self-expression, developing her paintings through multiple, experimental studies. She describes her painting process as “heart-led,” pairing her extensive knowledge of watercolour technique with a willingness to allow the painting to evolve with freedom. Each brush stroke suggests a new direction to be explored with curiosity and vulnerability.
