About Your Host
Inspired by nature and made by hand, The Stoneground Paint Co. crafts its paint in small batches using traditional methods, ensuring the quality and vivid reflective nature of handmade watercolour paint. They combine the world’s finest pigments with a binder made only from locally sourced organic honey and premium gum Arabic, intentionally avoiding fillers, extenders, or preservatives that can muddy and dull the paint.
Historically, artists possessed a profound understanding of their art supplies, often sourcing their own pigments and creating their own paints. Their binders were handmade, and their pigments were chosen based on effects, properties, or rarity. Consequently, the quality of their artwork relied heavily on the supplies they created for themselves.
