About This Experience

Maria will explore the intriguing differences between mineral and modern pigments, helping viewers choose the right tube of paint to achieve their desired results. She will showcase Opus Fortissimo Oil Brushes and demonstrate how to create personalized colour charts!


This casual drop-in event will occur from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Opus Art Supplies North Vancouver location. Please note that this is a drop-in event rather than a 1.5-hour demonstration during this timeframe. By registering, you will inform Maria and Opus of your planned visit. There will be a try-it station where you can explore a selection of event-related materials and gain hands-on experience!

A passionate landscape painter, Maria Josenhans creates oil paintings both outdoors on location and in her North Vancouver studio. As an artist for four decades, Maria's work plays back and forth between representational and abstract as she allows each painting to find its own unique path. Her career has been shaped by long periods of immersion in large-format photography, working as an illustrator, training, competing and adjudicating Highland dance, teaching, and travelling the world by bicycle. Maria holds a BFA with Honors from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA, has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants, and continues to take part in Invitational Plein Air events both nationally and abroad.
