Holbein Ox Gall Medium is an artist-grade wetting agent that improves flow and enhances wet-into-wet techniques when mixed with watercolours.

It also improves the acceptance of watercolor on paper, particularly hard-sized papers.

Perfect for a gouache travel palette

I like to have a small travel palette for my watercolor and gouache and sometimes I find that my paints will crack and pop out of the pan when they dry. Adding a drop or two of ox gall medium when reactivating my palette with water both reactivates the paint faster but more fully so that the opacity is correct but also lessens the cracking when it dries again!
