Opus Art Supplies is seeking an experienced and dedicated Retail Store Manager to lead our store in providing exceptional customer experiences and becoming a key member of the local art community. The successful candidate will play a vital role in driving daily sales goals and achieving quarterly sales objectives within a set budget.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the Customer Experience at Opus, ensuring exceptional service for all customer segments, including Opus+ PRO, Opus A+, Opus Plus, Serious Amateurs, and New to Art Customers.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, including daily cash reconciliation, bank deposits, TMS, and stock management.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans in collaboration with Coordinators to achieve sales goals and maintain labor costs between 14% and 18%, depending on the time of year.
  • Schedule staff to maximize customer engagement, ensure attendance at weekly product training and Coffee Pot Chats, and provide time for staff to watch pre-recorded training videos.
  • Collaborate with Coordinators and Leaders on hiring, development, and performance reviews for the Customer Experience Team, including conducting regular 1-to-1 meetings with all staff members.
  • Oversee store inventory and collaborate with Purchasing to adjust min/max levels and ensure accurate weekly replenishment orders.
  • Engage with the local art community, build long-lasting relationships, and participate in local events and customer art shows to foster growth and brand awareness.
  • Attend weekly Manager Meetings and bi-weekly Leadership Training and Strategic Planning Meetings with Coordinators.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably in an art supply or related industry.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sales and customer service focus.
  • Ability to create and execute strategic plans to achieve sales goals and control costs.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and purchasing processes.
  • Passion for the arts and community engagement.
  • Availability to work Tuesday to Saturday, 9am-5pm, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
