How To Make PLASTERMIX Plaster of Paris Casting Material

INSTRUCTIONS – FOR BEST RESULTS

1. Measure 1 part PLASTERMIX Plaster of Paris Casting Material to ½ part water
NOTE:  Using warm water will accelerate material hardening.  It is recommended to use cold water to allow for adequate setup.
2. Stir contents until you obtain a smooth consistency.
3. Pour into desired mold.
4. Let dry approx. 45-60 minutes. Drying times will vary for large castings.
5. Remove casting from mold.
6. Ready to decorate.
Q.  What’s the ratio for mixing PLASTERMIX Plaster of Paris Casting Material with water?
A.  2:1    (2 parts plaster to 1 part water)

Q.  What consistency am I looking for in my plaster-and-water mixture?
A.  Initially the mixture will seem quite watery when mixed at a ratio of 2 parts plaster to 1 part water. As PLASTERMIX Plaster of Paris Casting Material begins to react and temperature starts to climb, it will slowly become thicker and thicker until finally solidifying. Remember to use cold water to allow for a greater drying time.

When mixed with water, this material hardens and produces heat quickly. DO NOT attempt to make a cast enclosing any part of the body using this material. Dust from mixing may cause irritation to eyes, skin, nose, throat and upper respiratory tract Use only in a well-ventilated area. It is recommended to wear face and eye protection. If eye contact occurs flush thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. If on skin Wash with plenty of water. If swallowed and/or irritation persists, call physician.
