Holi is the Hindu festival of colors, which also celebrates the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. The festival takes place on the first full moon. After lighting large bonfires everywhere, the inhabitants dress in white and wander through the streets throwing handfuls of pigments of all colors at each other. Originally, Hindus covered their faces with ashes.
