Perfect for works of art on paper or art board and photographs.

This frame has become renowned for its simplicity, quality of construction, and ease of reuse. For nearly 40 years, it has stood the test of time, becoming a staple item for professional artists, photographers, museums, art galleries, and schools alike.

Opus' owner, David van Berckel, developed the Opus Metal Exhibition Frame in the mid-70s, taking inspiration from the frames he saw when visiting the galleries and museums of Europe. Drawing on his engineering degree, he designed a frame that is highly functional for exhibition use, allowing users to easily change out artwork.

The Opus Metal Exhibition Frame (or "OMEX" to those who know it well) has also become widely used in home decor as its universal quality showcases artwork in a classic style that is beyond trend.

Opus Metal Exhibition Frames:

  • This brushed aluminum frame is available in Satin Black and Satin Silver
  • Includes plexiglass, acid-free backing barrier paper, and quick-release hardboard backing, plus hanging clips, plastic-coated wire. Hanging hardware sold separately

Love these frames

I used to buy the shipping packs for 5 frames with glass which I loved even more. Despite periodically having to replace broken glass, this was still a great value when you live away from an Opus location.

I don't love plexi in frames as it attracts dust and can scratch, but sometimes you just have to put up with this when glass is not a safe option.

Nice frames but I was thinking I was buying one with glass and not plexi

My mistake but maybe a clearer more obvious label on the packaging would be good. Items are not always returned to the shelves in the correct location.

Making Exhibition Preparations Easier

If you exhibit your work on paper regularly, exhibition frames is the way to go. With the cost of framing it makes sense to standardize your sizes and slip them into these easy to use frames as needed. I have been using Opus frames, professionally for over 40 years and still have a couple of those in the studio. The styles have changed over the years but they are still a great investment.
