With the Kaweco Sport something special was created in 1911. A pocket fountain pen that only measured 10.5 cm when closed and therefore came in handy as an every day carry item. When placing the cap on the barrel, the pen measured 13 cm. Back in the days it was advertised for ladies, gentlemen and sportsmen.

One of the most famous users was Sepp Herberger. The former coach of the German national football team put his winning tactics, which led to the world championship title in 1954, with his Kaweco Sport on the paper.

Today's series Classic Sport was inspired by these historical roots. The series consists of classic and historical colours and it stands out, due to the gold-plated steel nib, a golden coloured logo cap and a premium golden hot foil stamping.

Really good

Really good, great to keep in your pocket. Just wish that black ink had been available at time of purchase. Otherwise it's great!

Drawing and writing with the Kaweco Sport pen

I am enjoying the fountain pen, both for drawing and writing. I do need to post the cap to give it a bit more weight and length so it feels substantial enough in my hand. I am using a Burgundy, ** Permanence waterproof ink from Calli, and I really like the flow and colour. I did drop the converter into the ink bottle once so far, which I attribute to the short piston handle on the converter I purchased separately. The converter is a straight pull type, and given that this pen has a more compact design my only solution may be to improve my technique. I do like the pen's compact design and the fact that the pen cap securely threads on, which will help to protect the nib when I have it in my rather full pencil case.
