About This Experience
Laura Bifano will demonstrate her unique technique for creating luminous gouache paintings. She will begin with a warm underpainting that sets a vibrant tone for the artwork. Gradually, she will build the opacity of the Gouache in layers, adding depth and richness to the colours and creating a beautiful interplay of light. By the end of the demonstration, viewers will understand how to achieve luminous effects with this versatile medium.

About Your Host

Since graduating from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2008, Laura Bifano has had a diverse career, working in illustration, fine art, and, for the past decade, animation. Her most recent project involved art directing an upcoming series with DreamWorks and Apple TV. Laura shines particularly in development and location design and greatly enjoys collaborating with other artists toward a common goal.
In addition to her professional work, she maintains a personal plein air painting practice and has had the privilege of showcasing her artwork in several galleries across North America. Based in the Kootenays, Laura draws endless inspiration from her surroundings as a plein air painter and Art Director.
