Kathi will begin class with a “drawing basics” recap, then jump right in, sharing additional ways you can manipulate your pencils and tools to create a variety of unique effects within your traditional pencil tip renderings. Learn how to create diffused elements with pigment and brushes, create pleasing background effects, add instant dimension in an area, texture effects, and so much more! All ages and abilities are welcome.

About Your Host
Kathi Hanson has been teaching workshops across the United States and Canada for the past 35 years. She is known for her vast knowledge of subject matter and unique special effect techniques in multiple media. Her workshops are very popular due to her creative and informative teaching style, as well as the personal attention she gives to each student.
Kathi has won several awards for her work, has published over 75 art-related articles in national art magazines, and has collaborated on or created artwork for several Art Technique books on the market. She has also developed a variety of instructional painting techniques, which are available on DVDS through websites and local art stores.
