Celebrate Canada Day with the Opus Plein Air Challenge 2024!
Join us in-person on July 1, 2024, for the Opus Plein Air Challenge! This beloved event, formerly known as the Opus Outdoor Painting Challenge, has been a cornerstone of our summer activities for over a decade. It's a fantastic opportunity to kick off the plein air season and unite the community in a shared creative endeavor.
With an array of prizes from our generous sponsors, this event promises fun for all ages and skill levels. Here's how you can be part of the excitement at your favorite Opus location:
What to Expect
Prepare for a day filled with artistic inspiration and community spirit!
- Start the Day: Pick up a free canvas panel from the event host table (while supplies last). If you need any last-minute art supplies, our store will be open to assist you.
- Find Your Spot: Choose a location nearby that inspires you. Challenge yourself to capture the view with your unique artistic style. There's no pressure to finish your artwork on the spot.
- Watch the Clock: Return to the host table with your artwork before the designated time to be entered into the prize draw.
Instagram Prize Draw: Share your work on Instagram with #OpusPleinAirChallenge for extra prize draw entries. Your entries will also be featured in our Opus Plein Air Challenge Virtual Gallery, and additional prizes will be drawn after July 31, 2024, when the 6-week challenge ends.
Note: Pre-registration is not required. Just show up on the day with your supplies!

Creative Block Party at Opus Granville Island
Event: Creative Block Party & Painting Challenge on Granville Island
Where: Opus Granville Island 1360 Johnson St, Vancouver, BC
When: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
The Creative Block Party begins at 10 AM, and at 11:00 AM, you can pick up your FREE surface at Opus & Join the Opus Plein Air Challenge! Return to the store with your art by 3:30 when we’ll begin the Prize Draws!
Opus Coquitlam
