Italia: Cold Pressed Watercolour Paper

Magnani 1404 Italia is a cold pressed watercolour paper made of 100% cotton. The cold pressed surface with medium texture will be familiar to many watercolour artists, and makes a great choice for those unsure of exactly what they want from a watercolour paper.

Italia is available in a standard 300gsm weight and in some formats, 640gsm heavyweight paper. Italia comes in different block and pad sizes, plus full size 56 x 76 cm sheets (22 x 30 in.) Magnani 1404 Italia papers are a natural white colour.

Portofino: Hot Pressed Watercolour Paper

Magnani 1404 Portofino is a hot pressed watercolour paper made of 100% cotton. Hot pressed surfaces are smoother, with less defined texture than cold pressed papers. This makes them popular particularly among artists looking to create fine details, and those working with ink pens or pencils.

Toscana: Rough Watercolour Paper

Magnani 1404 Toscana is a rough watercolour paper made of 100% cotton. Rough papers, as the name implies, have the most uneven paper surface. The texture of Toscana provides organic, slightly unpredictable results that are preferred among those who work in flowing, loose painting styles. Granulating colours and paints (such as Schmincke Supergranulating Colours) will show the most dramatic results on this type of paper.
