Work in style with Strathmore's fine art papers in finely crafted books.

The Strathmore 400 Series Watercolour Hardbound Art Journal features cold press watercolour paper bound in a finely-crafted, hardbound cover in matte, rich dark brown. A quality smyth sewn binding allows the pages to be opened flat for easy drawing on both pages.

Use the strong surface of the paper in the Strathmore Watercolour Art Journal to stand the rigors of watercolour, gouache, and acrylics. The natural white colour and traditional cold press surface allows for fine and even washes, as well as lifting and scraping.

48 pages of 300 gsm (140 lb) acid-free, cold-pressed watercolour paper. Measures 8 " Γ— 5 ".

Great for wet and dry media.

I use mine for gouache practice. I like that one side of each page is slightly rougher (great for dry brush effects) and the other slightly smoother. Takes wet on wet applications and wet on dry well. I need to use bull clips to hole pages open and flat.

Fair quality

The journal looks very nice but the paper is not very absorbent for watercolours.

Strathmore 400 Series Watercolour Hardbound Art Journal 8.5” x 5.5”

Went on trip through Discovery Islands. I wanted a long landscape format so this Journal worked perfectly. I had 17” to work with. It was windy so I clipped the sides to the hard cover and had no problems. The paper was of a good weight and took ink and Watercolour well. Highly recommended. Christine Gollner
