Opus Acrylic Mediums

It allows smooth strokes & dries quickly allowing you to continue without colour mixing .
The finish is a soft sheen, nice.
This is my first time using the Glossy Medium & am very happy .

Excellent quality: one thin slightly diluted coat gives a classy matte finish. Love it!

Has a bit of a yellow cast when using as varnish but good value compared to other similar products.

I have relied on this product for over 25 years and it has stood the test of time,

Worked as expected

I buy gallons of Opus acrylic medium every year and after experimenting with other popular brands I find that it is the best. In my case I use it as a binding agent and appreciate its high tack ability.

Much less expensive than Liquitex and Golden Brands. Has a slight yellow cast when dry but doesn't substantially impact overall colour.

Excellent for layering glazes to create depth and for sealing one colour before applying another colour over top.

Good product for giving paint a nice luscious ease with a brush. Paint stays wet longer and creates a nice shiny finish for end result.

Always pleasantly surprised when an opus brand can stand up to the Big Guys….

I asked the staff for help with this concept I had of epoxying gloss photographs so they could be mounted on a wall; it didn’t work. I’m sure this may have a use but it wasn’t for what I needed. There are also no instructions.

Opus Acrylic Mediums

I paint in both oils and acrylics. Acrylics are for masochists and require many special tricks. Mediums are extraordinarily important in acrylics as water causes more problems than it solves, most times so extending time or spread is entirely dependent upon extra medium. I have found Opus mediums as good as any I've used and adding medium allows for the paint to hold a bit more water when covering large areas in a short time. Time is the enemy using acrylics... extenders always cause me more problems than they fix so I use mediums to extend time and spread. Painting with a horizontal canvas can reduce running of thinned paint when covering large areas.

I have used both the gloss and matte Opus Acrylic Mediums with my work, they are cost effective in comparison to bigger name brands, and they work great for use with the acrylics in my studio. They have mixed tried and true with both the Opus Essential Acrylic line of paints as well as Golden Heavy Body, Fluid, High Flow and Open!
