Liquitex Ultra Matte Mediums

Liquitex Ultra Matte Medium (formerly called “Jarpaque Extender”) is the prolific painter’s friend and a boon to any budget! Reduce sheen and increase volume while maintaining opacity (not usually the case with most mediums). Soft bodied paints can be doubled in volume without loss of colour strength or hue. If you add more than 50% by volume, there will be a weak tinting effect.

Since different pigments react differently, start by adding less extender, and keep mixing and adding till the desired effect has been achieved. The dried surface will have a matte sheen.
