Gamblin Galkyd G-Gel does not dry as quickly as some gel mediums, and is ideal for artists who want to create transparent impasto effects. It is a gelled, alkyd resin painting medium that will hold your brush and painting knife marks, and will allow you to apply multiple layers.

Customers praise this painting medium gel for its versatility and efficiency. Artists appreciate how it "glided on smoothly" and significantly reduces drying time while maintaining workability. Commonly mixed with oil paints, cold wax, or used for wet-in-wet techniques, it provides better mixability than traditional oils and leaves a preferred satin finish.

  • It glided on smoothly, and most importantly reduced drying time.
  • Best medium to mix with cold wax and oil, leaves a satin finish.
  • You get a wonderful quick drying paint.

Galkyd Gel

Galkyd Gel is the best medium to mix with cold wax and oil if yolooking to speed drying time between layers and it also leaves a satin finish to the surface which I prefer.

Very nice medium

Very nice medium, I use it when I need to make paint more mixable. I like it better than linseed oil or stand oil. Probably also helps the paint dry faster, but not too fast, I usually work wet in wet on wood panels or canvas.

WhenTime is of the Essence

I used Gambling Galkyd Gel in a painting with gentle reflections and subtle shadows. It glided on smoothly, and most importantly reduced drying time. Very enjoyable to work with.

Gamblin Galkyd G-Gel

I like the effect of this Gel to add to an acrylic painting to convert it and use oil after the same painting opens the potential of what we can do.
In light!

Galkyd gel for oil and cold wax

If you mix the gel with wax in a 3 pts wax to 1 pt gel, and then add that to your oil paints, you get a wonderful quick drying paint.
