Love this little pad. Looking forward to making vacation water colour sketches.

Taking up watercolours after a long break, I noticed how I was able to play with the paint without eroding the paper. So superior to what I remember!

I bought the block without noticing it was hot press paper. As I usually use cold press paper, I am creatively exploring my fun mistake. The paper is good quality and I will try the cold press next time.

Even though it is on a block, the paper did not dry flat. Dried like a cheap student grade curly paper.

I purchased the hot press version (10”x14”) and (9”x12”). I use it for ink and watercolour. It takes a bit of getting used to the smooth surface when using watercolour, but I love the transparent layers I can achieve and it’s lovely to draw on with fine ink pens, or Tombow water soluble felt pens. It would likely work well for artists who prefer hotpress paper for gouache painting.

Purchased a 10”x14” Fabriano watercolour block (and most recently, the same, but 9”x 12” size). For ink work with watercolor washes I absolutely love it. It takes a bit of getting used to as it’s definitely different from using traditional 140lb CP paper (I’ve used several different artist quality brands). The paint moves on the paper differently. I use it mostly for urban sketching using ink, watercolour washes layered and blended on the palette, along with ink and Tombow dual tip water soluble pens. I totally recommend it.

I was disappointed in the papers. Sold as extra white and the paper was still off-white like other papers. I didn’t find them to be as described at all. Lesson learned about online shopping on this one.

Not too happy with the Fabriano watercolour paper I recently purchased from you. It doesn’t absorb the paint at all and causes fluffy balls to arise. I usually get Arches watercolour paper but their prices are much too high for me.
