Pastel pencils have a larger-than-average core, 5 mm in diameter, which releases more pigment when used, giving you that unrivalled velvety finish. As the core is slightly harder than that of squares, pastel pencils are ideal for precision work in both small and large formats, whether for landscapes or portraits. Its velvet effect is appreciated in the creation of the drawing as well as in the rendering. Ideal selection for vibrant drawings.

I used these for drawing designs on clothing before bleach and or fabricpainting and they work amazing! Nice having a wood barrel instead of chalky fingers for some projects. Does break a bit when sharpening but they seem to last quite well!

The Conte pencils are fine. It's unfortunate that they are so often sold out.

My favorite choice
I'v been using conte pencils for about 5 years, these are great for te finishing touches on pastel works but I use them to refine charcoal work. They also work well to define a painting too. Best texture and hold a great point.

Very difficult to sharpen. You need to sell a pencil sharpener with them that will sharpen them. None of the other pencil sharpeners you sell work. I've tried them all!
