About the product

ArtGraf No.1 Kneadable Graphite 150g

Discover a whole new way to express yourself with this premium, artist grade putty graphite!

Ideal for loose, gestural drawings, you can create as many marks as you knead! Create a large ball for huge applications of smooth graphite, or roll it into smaller shapes for thinner lines and to add some detail.

The putty is water-soluble, so you can use it on its own on dry paper, or make things interesting by adding water, either to your paper or directly on your marks. The result is also erasable, so you can take highlight details with both dry marks and light washes.

  • Conforms to ASTM-D4236
  • Non-toxic
  • Made in Portugal
  • 150 g
  • Water-soluble
  • Comes in a resealable ziplock bag

ArtGraf No. 1 Kneadable Graphite

I bought this with the intention of using it for life drawing. I was so excited that I would be able to knead it into a point for finer details. Getting it out of the package was a crumbling nightmare. When I tried to knead it, it broke in half. I imagine that this was old stock. I saw the same product today at your store, and it was pliable and soft. I looked at mine today - it wasn't as dark or soft. Mine is shiny grey and hard as a rock. :(
