This 300 gsm (140 lb) high-tech paper was specifically designed for oil painting. It features a powerful oil barrier that absorbs water, solvents, and binders evenly while allowing the paint and pigment to remain on the surface. Its unique surface maintains the look and feel of traditional ARCHES. Drawing mediums also work nicely on this paper
ARCHES Oil Paper is ready to use; no gesso or preparation is necessary. These full sheets can easily be cut to a desired size, or rolled for easy transportation.
A finished oil painting on this paper, like canvas, can be stapled to stretcher bars and framed. Or display the finished piece to highlight it as a work on paper, either mounted to a backing board and covered with a mat board and glass or float mounted under glass so the edges of the paper are exposed. As with any oil painting, it is highly recommended that the painting be varnished.
