Our Exclusive Cotton & Linen Blend Canvas
Introducing the Black label series of canvases from Opus! These special limited edition Cotton & Linen Blend canvases offer the high tensile strength and traditional look of linen with the value of cotton, and are not readily found online or in other art supplies stores.
Featuring a unique blend of 55% linen & 45% cotton, these canvases are stretched on 1½” deep basswood bars and back-stapled, designed for presence and impact. Each canvas is primed with 2 coats of gesso for a finished weight of 320 gsm, ready to paint with acrylics. For oil painting, we recommend two or more additional coats of gesso to achieve your best results.
Wooden stretcher bar keys are included with each canvas so you can tighten your canvas to your desired tautness.

I took full advantage of the amazing offerings during the Boxing week sale and tried this new-to-me canvas.
I am happy with the results and it stood up to a few layers of mixed media: tin foil, gesso & tons of paint, markers, charcoal and chalk.
All the layers resulted in a deep and rich abstract with no sagging at all to the canvas.

I like the quality of the build, and the recent sale the price was excellent, but my 2 star review is because I was only able to find 3 out of about 20 where the canvas wasn't indented in the corners. So search through them carefully if purchasing, or maybe that wouldn't bother you.
