What an unexpected gem of a colour. Who knew that a granulating old rose colour would be such magical addition to my palette. It has interesting mixes with yellows and oranges, enhances pinks and reds, but has really amazing mixes with greens and blues. It's a humble looking colour, but is actually a powerhouse if you give it a chance.
Windsor Newton permanent alycerine crimson is the most important red in my box. I’ve used it for over 40 years and wouldn’t be without it. It makes the most perfect grey mixed with cerulean blue and a touch of yellow ocher.
