The Hake Brush is a traditional flat wash brush with tied construction (the hairs are sewn between flat wood sections; no metal ferrule). The hairs are very soft white goat hair. They hold a lot of paint, and cover plenty of ground without costing a lot of money.

Natural bristles don't melt

Encaustic is a little warm for synthetic bristles. Wide brushes help lay down wide areas evenly.
