Lightfast and Permanent

Rated AA and A for Excellent and Good lightfastness, Cotman Watercolour gives artist the reassurance expected from a quality watercolour range.

Student-grade watercolour tubes praised for "bright and vibrant colours" at an affordable price point. Customers said they're "great for noobs" and ideal for practice. While most loved the color quality, some noted flow/dispersion could be better. Artists appreciate the value for experimenting without cost concerns, though serious professionals may prefer higher-grade options.

  • Bright and vibrant colours that have never disappointed me.
  • For student grade it's awesome.

Bright and vibrant colours.

I have used Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolour paint for years. As an artist, I look for bright and vibrant colours to capture the environment I live in. These paints have never disappointed me.

Nice price, vibrant tone

First time I've bought this brand. I loved the color but the flow/dispersion wasn't what it could be

Doesn’t disappoint

For student grade it’s awesome. Especially if you aren’t sure about adding a paint color to your existing palette

I like them for practice and the price.

They work well

Watercolour in a tube.

This particular type of good quality paint 🎨, burnt umber colour, is excellent for underpainting. For serious painting, either professional or with ambition to be a professional, the best quality is recommended; you get what you pay for.

Cotman Watercolour Tubes

As a beginner, the Cotman student grade colours were recommended by my instructor. I enjoy using them...but I like Daniel Smith a liitle more; they feel smoother to spread around.

Cobalt Blue

I have always been very happy with the Windsor Newton products. True to colour and easily mixed. Cobalt Blue, specifically, is now available as an (AP) Approved Product rating, meaning that there isn’t any heavy metals in this paint.

Cotman watercolours

If you want to paint - and actually use your paint - this is an affordable product. Less expensive than expert quality - Ron Ranson recommended these paints to paint freely without concern for costs.

Cotman watercolour tubes

I have been using Cotman watercolours for about 10 years now as their price line fits my budget. I have used a few other brands occasionally and I really don't find a big difference in the quality of colour, though I do not consider myself an expert. I like the results I get and they have a good colour selection.
