ChromaTemp Tempera Paints

Easy on the budget and ideal for use in the classroom!

Chromatemp is a non-toxic pre-mixed tempera paint that will not settle or separate, and has a long shelf life – no shaking or stirring required. All of the colours are bright, intermixable, and more flexible than most traditional liquid temperas.

The paint dries to an opaque, matte finish.

Customers praised these tempera paints for "excellent quality" with "lots of pigment" that creates "rich color" in one coat. Popular for studios, schools, and window painting. "Thick enough" consistency and washable formula work well with children. Some noted plastic containers crack easily when dropped. Past batches were watery but recent quality is improved.

I’m happy with the paint - thick enough for school use with kindergarteners but the plastic container is too thin and when I dropped the bottle by accident, it cracked and I’m afraid the paint will dry up while waiting for another project. Maybe a different material can be used.

This years supply of ChromaTemp water based window paints was quite good with lots of pigment,making for a satisfying rich use of color for my window designs. In the past I found the pigment to be to thin making for a watery layer of paint without the depth of colour required in one applicaton. That was about 3 yrs ago,,but not wanting to waste the paint I sometimes leaves the lids off just to let the water content evaporate. This problem wa not an issue this year..so averaging it all out ...FOUR STARS!

Chroma Temp on Windows

I have a small window painting business where I decorate bi-annually for a few different clients. I've been doing this for 15 years. Chroma Temp is the only tempera paint I've found that goes on thick enough to require only one coat to look good. Makes my job faster and easier. If anyone is interested in seeing what I do with these paints, check out Window Wonders on Facebook. I love this stuff. When I moved to Nova Scotia 3 years ago I couldn't find this paint anywhere, so I had to start ordering online with big shipping charges. If anyone knows a place to buy them here, I'd appreciate a heads up.
