I love the detail, durability, the challenge of carving (good workout for the wrists and fingers - worth it). I took the workshop a few months back and was inspired. Formerly did an image of Jim Morrison from the Doors with a touch of Prince and made prints on felt squares and needle pointed with blanket stitch onto the Opus canvas blankbags. Decently easy to carve, a bit easier if you hit it with heat (hair drier works well) before carving. I found that it crumbles quite a lot in the path of the blade.
These are great blocks if you want unmounted linoleum. Easy to carve. However, the backing is burlap so if you get it wet while washing it, expect the burlap to shrink and the plate then curls up. This can make it it a bit of a pain inking it up later down the line.
The block was easy to cut with sharp tools. Gave chrisp edges when printing.
