Artist Instructor for R&F Handmade PaintsCost:
$8.00 per personDuration:
1h 30minAbout This Experience
Join Megan Macdonald for an oil based pigment stick demonstration at Opus in a relaxed environment where participants can see and experience the unique properties of R&F Pigment Sticks. The event will cover various topics, including how R&F Pigment Sticks enable artists to explore both traditional and alternative methods of oil painting, allowing for direct drawing or painting on a surface with immediacy and fluidity.
Participants will learn about R&F Pigment Sticks—composed of pigment and linseed oil—as well as important health and safety information related to their use, including the proper disposal of oil-soaked rags and paper towels. The session will also address suitable supports and tools, the differences between transparent and opaque pigment sticks, and techniques such as mono-printing, image transfer, and mark-making.
The primary focus will be on exploring the versatility of the R&F Pigment Stick sets and colour mixing. If time permits, additional techniques, such as the use of cold wax and Gelli plates, will also be discussed.
