About the product

QoR Watercolors

A modern twist on a traditional medium, QoR Watercolors give you more of what artists want: more colour, more intensity, more strength and more versatility.

Using an exciting new binder called Aquazol, QoR Watercolors pack 2-5 times more pigment punch into each tube than watercolours that use traditional Gum Arabic binder. Aquazol is crystal clear, allowing the brilliance and luminosity of the pigments to show to their highest potential, and reducing the colour-shift often encountered as watercolours dry.

QoR’s binder offers greater adherence for pigments, too, so no matter how thick or thin you paint, they’ll stay in place on your page without cracking or crumbling, a feature offered only through the use of this revolutionary binder.

Aquazol also contains a surfactant that gives QoR a highly dispersant quality, encouraging colours to flow beautifully, and maintain their liveliness on paper. All 83 luscious, flowing colours are also completely intermixable with traditional watercolours.

Leap into the future of watercolours with GOLDEN’s stunning new paints, and discover for yourself why they were given a name that stands for Quality of Results.

QoR Mediums and Grounds allow you to bring texture and life to your watercolours, on both traditional watercolour papers, and alternative surfaces like canvas, art board, and more! Increase the absorbency of your favourite surface with QoR Mediums and Grounds, and unleash the possibilities of watercolors!

Customers praised these watercolors for their "vibrant" and "beautiful colors" with exceptional pigment saturation and intensity. They "mix beautifully together" and rehydrate well. Artists appreciate the smooth application and consistent effects. One customer noted disappointment with lack of granulation in viridian.

I’m a beginner watercolour artist

And I don’t have much experience with watercolour paints, but I tried these in a demo in store and have been playing around with them for a week or so now. I enjoy the colours in the set and the intensity that I can get when I don’t use a ton of water. They mix beautifully together.

Subtle darks

I had never tried QOR before. I got indigo and Payne’s gray. I was very pleased with both. Nice colour intensity.

The best

A friend recommended these colors to me, and I love German Schmnckis, and I actually painted a painting of zebras and it was replaced by National Geographic. You can visit my page on Facebook and see what I mean.

Exceptional pigmentation, flow and feel - so many effects to explore

I'm still exploring these watercolours, but already love them; exceptional pigmentation, flow, granularity and responsiveness to effects such as washes, glazing, spraying, salt, etc. What I wasn't expecting, is the soft, buttery, substantial feel you have when used directly on the paper--like oils or acrylics. With their extended drying time and medium options I can't wait to experiment in my printmaking!
