Lascaux Medium 1 (Gloss)
Need more clarity, more depth, and a clean glossy finish? Lascaux Medium 1 is a crystal-clear acrylic medium that dries colourless, glossy, and water-resistant. Mixed into Lascaux acrylic colours, it increases transparency and stretch—ideal for luminous glazes and leaner paint films without losing brightness.
It’s also a hardworking studio utility: use it for collage and embedding, as a sealer on concrete, and as a gloss varnish on flexible substrates when properly diluted.
Why artists use it:
• Dries glossy, crystal clear, and water-resistant
• Lightfast and age-resistant
• Boosts transparency and paint yield
• Works as a sealer and gloss varnish (flexible substrates)
• Water-dilutable for controlled strength
Use & application:
• For glazes and as a sealer for concrete surfaces
• For collages and embedding various materials
• Suitable for flexible substrates
• As a sealer: dilute 1:1 to 1:10 with water
• As a glossy varnish: dilute 4:1 with water
