Each bar is made from quality, warp-free, kiln-dried, unfinished basswood, featuring a 3/4" profile. The interlocked tongue-and-groove ends are perfect for tight assembly.
The rounded edge of the bar reduces any surface friction, allowing for a taut stretch when using both cotton and linen. This rounded edge also ensures that there will be no “ghost” impression of the bar coming through the canvas.
Please note: Use of a rubber mallet may be needed when assembling the bars.

These stretcher bars offer a great variety of lengths and solid wood construction. Customers said they "came together nicely" and are "easy to use" at a great price. However, some noted assembly challenges: corners require expertise to align properly, and cut lines can make squaring difficult. A few mentioned parts breaking due to tight fits.

Great quality stretcher bars and so much help from the Opus staff to put everything together.
We bought some funky paintings on a recent trip to Africa. To transport them we let to take them off their original stretcher bars and carry rolled up. Back home, we found Opus has all the pieces we needed to restretch the paintings. Never having done this before I was able to enlist one of the staff in the framing section to help and teach me restretch the paintings. I am so impressed with how helpful, friendly, engaging and knowledgeable the Victoria store staff is.

I wish Opus would sell the deeper stretcher bars in 12”, 16” & 20” lengths. I purchased two sets of the thin stretchers and screwed them together to form a deep canvas frame, 12” X 36”.
.
Very good quality but as with others they need a bit of expertise to get those corners attached. Once they are lined up the canvas covers up any imperfections.

Does what they need to do but hard to work with. Poor quality cut lines makes joining pieces together and squaring off difficult
The stretcher bars were perfect for mounting the textile art I’d made. It will definitely take more practice to get clean corners, but I managed to get something quite workable. Got great instruction at the framing counter. : )
Excellent product !
They fit very tightly so you have to hammer them together. But they are also flimsy, so parts broke. Frustrating.
