Canson Plein Air Artboards

The paper is really great if you are looking for a substitute for canvas. It's really thick and has nice texture and rigidity. The front and back cover flap slipped off quite quickly though and some of the glue from the sides came loose meaning that the artboards were no longer held together fully. I still really love the paper though so four stars!

The surface is too rough. Not really ready for painting.

As a watercolour wine and paint night instructor I have been using the mixed media art boards for my classes.
I love that the boards are stiff and don’t buckle and the class participants take home a painting that feels more sturdy and substantial than just a piece of watercolour paper.
I use the mixed media boards because the watercolour boards are hard to come by. They work good for watercolour if you don’t need a full wet wash over the whole board as they don’t hold the water quite the same as watercolour paper.

I really love them! Light but sturdy enough to hold their shape.
