About the Author: Michiyo Miyanaga is a Japanese fine artist and an Assistant Art Anatomy Professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts. She is a Director of the Japanese Society of Artistic Anatomy and the Japanese Academy of Facial Studies. After graduating from Joshibi University of Art and Design (with an emphasis in Japanese painting), she received a graduate degree in fine arts from Tokyo University of the Arts. Following this, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Tokyo, and she obtained a doctorate in medicine from Toho University School of Medicine. She lectures at universities and colleges throughout Japan.
