The story behind Flashe Vinyl Paint

Velvety, ultra-matte colour that grips almost any surface.

Lefranc Bourgeois traces its history to 1720, when it began as a colour merchant in Paris; today its paints are made in Le Mans. Flashe, its vinyl paint, has been a cult favourite with muralists, designers and painters since the 1950s.

Flashe dries to an intense, velvety matte with no glare, which is why it photographs so well and why artists use it for flat, graphic fields of colour on walls, wood, canvas and paper alike.

Try it in the studio

Lay flat graphic shapes with a soft synthetic brush and let each layer dry before the next: Flashe levels to a smooth, chalky matte with no brush marks.
