Sketching Techniques with Jens Huebner

The demo will be divided into two parts, each lasting approximately 45 minutes. In the first part, Jens Huebner will demonstrate his technique using Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens in different colours on toned paper. This segment will focus on tonal values and colour reduction.
The second part will involve using Albrecht Dürer watercolour markers, concentrating on sketching on watercolour paper. The instructor will share various tricks to create special effects beyond drawing lines with the markers.
Two motifs will be sketched throughout the demo. Jens aims to provide new insights and inspiration to the participants, encouraging them to explore their creativity in their artwork. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions midway and at the end of the demo.

About Your Host
Jens Huebner was born in Germany and studied Industrial design in Berlin, Germany and Calgary, Canada. He founded a design studio with a friend in Berlin, and after ten years, he sold the design studio and cycled worldwide for two years. While cycling, Jens began travel sketching and watercolour, starting his journey as an urban sketcher.
Today, he teaches illustration at AIDBerlin (Art School) during the winter, and in the summer, Jens travels on his bike or motorcycle through Europe to teach art workshops. He gives virtual classes or demos worldwide, in Japan, Korea, China, Sudan, Tanzania, South Africa, New Zealand, and many others.
Jens Huebner has written several books about Urban sketching, drawing and watercolours that can be found translated into Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. When not on the road, Jens lives in the countryside with his wife and dog in the North of Germany and Berlin.
