Opus Exhibition Deep Canvases are back-wrapped and stapled for a clean presentation for display without framing. This Canadian-made canvas is 100% pure cotton stretched on 1½″ deep basswood stretcher bars. It features 7 oz (237 gsm) canvas, primed to a finished weight of 10 oz (328-385 gsm). Shrink wrapping ensures a clean canvas for your next creation.
The surface is specially primed for Opus with two coats of acrylic gesso to provide superior results in acrylic painting. For oil painting, we recommend a minimum of two or more coats of gesso for optimum results.

I have been using these Opus canvases (about 300) for many years and love them! I usually buy the larger ones and paint directly onto the pre-gessoed surface which is perfect for Acrylic paint. The frames are never warped and the tension correct. Great value too!

I ordered these canvasses, hoping they would be a decent quality for the price I was paying. The cost per canvas was lower than any other Canadian company I checked, so I was wondering how the quality would compare to ones I was buying locally. I am very happy to report that the canvasses are great, and I am totally satisfied with the weight of the canvas itself, the priming is nice and even, and the stretcher bars nice and sturdy. I have now placed a second order as I enjoyed working on this surface.
