Artist oil colors praised for "excellent quality" and "beautiful translucent quality." I use Phathlo Green , Ultramarine some Quinadrone and maybe Cadmium Orange to make darks within a landscape.
Who can live without Paynes gray? Excellent quality.

why should cobalt blue be so high in cost,,,i can't buy it.
Quality is good but cost is high, making art should not be a a luxury pastime.

I prefer Windsor & Newton.
Gamblin makes excellent oil paints. The Portland greys can be very helpful in moderating both temperature and value. I use the expensive cerulean blue liberally mixing it with cadmium orange to make warm greys.
Two of my favorite products are found at Opus: Golden Hi-flow acrylics, which I use for the airbrush portion of my paintings, and Gamblin oils, which is the subject of this review. I found the creamy consistency and buttery application of the paint makes it a pleasure to use, either by brush or troweling it on with a palette knife.
