Acrylic Landscapes with Abby Williams
Liquitex AcrylicsAbout This Experience
Standing in the paint aisle of your local Opus store and choosing the right acrylic paint can be an overwhelming experience, but it doesn’t have to be. Liquitex Artist Abby Williams will guide you through painting a landscape while sharing the attributes of the Soft Body, Heavy Body, Acrylic Ink, Acrylic Gouache and Bio-Based Heavy Acrylic paint ranges.
While artists might not traditionally use all five ranges in one painting, Abby will take an unconventional approach so that you can see exactly how they work and offer advice on why you might choose one over another. Are you looking for thicker or thinner acrylic paint? Do you prefer impasto marks over the absence of brushstrokes? Or maybe you’re looking for a more sustainable option. Paint along with Abby or observe while she helps you get to the bottom of it all, so you can make wise purchases that are best for your painting process.

About Your Host
Abigail Williams is a self-taught artist whose work spans 2D and 3D media—from acrylic, watercolour, and oil, to enamel, printmaking, and woodcarving. Though based in and inspired by New England, Abigail is thrilled at the opportunity to create on the road and has painted across four continents (so far).
As an artist, Abigail sees her process as a way to learn, whether by studying a subject or experimenting with a medium. As a linguist, she sees art-making as a uniquely powerful form of communication. She hopes her pieces will invite others to share in the excitement of newfound understanding.
Finally, Abigail recognizes the responsibility of artists to respect the environment from which we all draw inspiration. She seeks new and old ways of creating which minimize waste and leave no trace.
