Frequently asked questions
How does the $10 store credit work?
When you book an in-store event that's $10 or more, we add $10 in store credit to your Opus membership. Spend it on anything, in store or online. Membership is free to join.
Why do in-store events have a ticket?
In-store events are small groups, and a ticket holds your seat so the spot is there for you. Members get the $10 back as store credit, so it goes toward the materials you'll want to keep using.
Why do some workshops cost more than $10?
Longer workshops are taught by the artist over several hours and often include materials. Members still get $10 back in store credit, and the rest of the ticket goes to the artist teaching.
Do I have to register in advance?
Yes, most events need registration to reserve your spot, and seats fill up fast. Drop-in events don't need registration, just come by.
Where are events held?
In-store at Opus locations across BC, and online over Zoom. Every event shows its store, or Online, on the card and the event page.
Can I join an online event if I don't live in BC?
Yes! Online events are open to artists across Canada and beyond.
Will I get a recording if I miss an online event?
No. Demos are live-only. If one is recorded, the footage goes to the artist and isn't shared publicly.
I registered but didn't get a confirmation email. What should I do?
Check your junk or spam folder first. If you're still unsure, email Pamela Mark at pmark@opusartsupplies.com to confirm your registration.
How can I apply to be a demo artist?
We love working with artists who teach and inspire. Apply here to share your skills at an upcoming demo.
