In this virtual workshop, we will explore ways to create depth, movement, and light while building ocean-inspired colour palettes. Whether your work leans toward landscape, abstraction, or somewhere in between, you'll learn techniques that bring a greater sense of flow, atmosphere, and visual richness to your paintings.

Materials
Amsterdam Standard Acrylics: Titanium White, Azo Yellow Medium, Primary Yellow, Pyrrole Red, Primary Magent, Ultramarine, Primary Cyan, Oxide Black ( feel free to add whatever colours you enjoy most!)
Acrylic Brushes: Filbert: 8, 10, or 12, Bright: 8, 10, or 12, Flat: 8, 10, or 12
Opus Paint and Peel Palette: 12x18”
Pro Tapes® Artist's Tapes: 0.5x60yd
Acrylic Medium: Matte or Gloss Medium or Gel Medium
1 water bucket (1qrt or larger)
Paint rags or paper towels

Jeff Olson is a Seattle-based artist, educator, and materials specialist whose career spans more than 30 years of studio practice and exhibition history, as well as 25 years in the art materials industry. With both a BFA and an MFA in painting and drawing, his work bridges fine art, technical knowledge, and a deep curiosity about the materials artists use. As Art Education Director for Royal Talens North America, Olson combines hands-on demonstration with insights into the history, composition, and working properties of artists’ materials. Known for his engaging and approachable teaching style, he helps artists of all experience levels better understand the creative potential of their tools. Non. Ces démos sont exclusivement en direct. Si elles sont enregistrées, les images sont offertes à l'artiste et ne sont pas partagées publiquement.

Oui! Nos événements en ligne sont ouverts aux artistes du Canada et d'ailleurs.
Où se déroulent les événements ?
Nous organisons des événements en magasin dans certains magasins Opus et en ligne via Zoom ou d'autres plateformes. Le lieu et le format seront toujours clairement indiqués.

Est-il acceptable de poser des questions pendant la démonstration ?
Absolument. Utilisez le chat communautaire pour poser vos questions concernant la démo. Notre hôte les transmettra à l'artiste dès que le temps le permettra.
Quand pourrai-je accéder à la salle d'attente Zoom ?
Nous ouvrons la salle dès l'heure de début. Arrivez quelques minutes à l'avance pour éviter tout retard.
