Customers praised these metal exhibition frames as "sturdy, easy to quickly set up" and ideal for photography and artwork. Many appreciate the simple assembly and clean, professional look. However, concerns include glass fragility during transport, discontinuation of plexiglass options, and shipping/delivery issues. Some noted minor design issues with hanging clips and backing paper adhesive.

The frames themselves were fine, but. . .

The frames themselves were fine, but the delivery left a lot of confusion in its wake.

First, CANPAR put them on the truck to deliver, and announced that they'd be arriving later that day. They didn't show up, and upon checking the following morning, the delivery status said that they were delayed in their warehouse/depot.

It was a long weekend, so I waited until Tuesday to contact CANPAR, who said that the frames had been damaged in their warehouse, but couldn't tell me what the resolution was, or give me an estimate as to when I'd receive replacements.

On Wednesday, the frames arrived unexpectedly via Loomis at the wrong door of my home, where I found them several hours later. I brought them in and unpacked them, and found that the glass in two of the three was cracked.

I was out of time to deal with the re-order and re-shipping, so paid a different local Surrey business to cut two new pieces of glass for the otherwise undamaged frames, which cost me an additional $73.92.

All in all, the frames themselves are fine, very durable and quite usable, but the process for delivering them seemed pretty fraught with confusion and delay. Added to the delays was the extra cost, and the fact that I had to source double mats for them elsewhere because your price for the mats has gone up so much, and I'm rethinking Opus as my supplier of choice for these.

No Opus store near enough to me to go there and buy them or pick them up easily, so the shipping process is a big issue in the purchase.

Bring back plexi!

When I first discovered Opus Exhibition Frames back around 2018, I found they were a great way to frame and show my photography so that the art rather than the frame catches the viewer's eye. But one problem -- by the time I took down the exhibit, about half the frames had broken glass. Since then, I discovered that frames with plexiglass were a available for a slightly higher price. And since then, no broken glass. Late last year, I discovered Opus was discontinuing the plexiglass for the 18"X24" that I use. The good news was they were clearing out their stock of plexi frames at half price. I've now run out, so I'm forced to buy glass frames and pay another $30+ for a separate sheet of plexi that I can use when the glass breaks. So far, I've been unable to find a replacement as good as the Opus, but with plexi. I hope Opus listens to its customers and brings back the plexi option!

Super easy to assemble frames, and so clean. I can see how you have put some thought in designing these. It's very impressive. I will keep buying ready frames from Opus.

Very useful frames, but too bad plexiglass is being phased out

I've been buying Opus Metal Exhibition Frames for years now to frame my photography and transport it to different shows. It's a simple frame that's easy to assemble and it doesn't overpower my images. Initially, I broke a lot of glass until I discovered I could buy plexiglass for a few dollars more. No more breakage. Sadly, Opus is getting rid of the plexiglass, and your only option is now to wait until the glass breaks and then buy the plexiglass separately to replace it. I was lucky to get some remaining plexi frames at half price, but hopefully Opus will reconsider discontinuing that product. Glass is just too fragile for items that are often disassembled, reassembled and moved.

Framed!

I stopped into Opus for a frame to suit a photo I'd taken. After a few moments, the candidate stepped fwd and was purchased. Nothing's cheap these days, but when price is tied to value, and quality speaks out, decisions are simpler. The large Black Frame selected is very sturdy, compliments my subject, and adds a very nice touch to the project. I find the people at Opus very knowledgeable, the quality of the products superior and pro grade. All considered, it's my go to shop for art supplies.

Good reusable frames

I use these frames for most of my photos for their ease of use and their eminent reusability. They look nice, too. The only quibble I have with them is the Opus paper on the back which is glued on with very hard to remove glue, not so good for gallery framing where you want the back to look smart. Other than that, though, they're great.

Not as easy a frame

I tried this type of frame where the picture is suspended inside the frame versus the mat and frame combo which I am used to. I have to say is is way more fiddly trying to line it up and use the right kind of tape than using a mat and conventional frame. During the art show, the picture actually came unstuck and fell within the frame so I was not happy with it. I also was sold the wrong type of tape so that was a waste. I only went this route because Opus was out of the mat size I needed. Never again.

Opus Metal Exhibition frames

I have used these frames for many years.
They are sturdy, easy to use and protect the corners of your work if it is unmatted and when used for watercolour or dry medium this frame works very well. They stand up to shipping and handling in a gallery setting.
The other thing is this frame is acceptable in most galleries and is cost effective for the artist.

They are Okay

They work just fine. I don’t particularly like the look but those who purchased the framed print liked them so I would recommend.

I had to take out the glass, but the frames are perfect. The fasteners are a little fussy but work.

Exhibition Frame

This is a really good frame that can be used again and again, the only negative is the hanging clip's for the wire, they really don't work that well, I think a bit of a rethink should be made.

Excellent Framing System

I exclusively use the OMEX system with a matte black finish to display and sell my fine art photography. The frames are exceptionally well-engineered and the finish does not peel, chip or crack, even after many art shows where the prints are constantly exchanged. The system is simple to use and trouble-free. I also love how these discreet frames give my art an elegant and classy look without competing for the customer's attention. While these may not be the most inexpesive frames, they are durable and beautiful. Like they say...you get what you pay for.

The 16 x20 frame is great to work with. I did notice that the position of the clips in the back has changed. The older version has more clip supports.
