Galkyd dilue les couleurs à l’huile et augmente la transparence et la brillance.
Utilisé en plus grande quantité avec la peinture à l'huile, Galkyd égalise les coups de pinceau, créant une surface semblable à de l'émail. Galkyd est le médium à peindre Gamblin qui sèche le plus rapidement. Les couches fines seront sèches au toucher en environ 24 heures.

This oil painting medium provides excellent flow and accelerates drying time to 3-4 days. Customers praised its versatility, mixing well with cold wax and thinners. One long-time customer called it "essential" to their painting practice. Some noted it can gel during multi-day sessions but is easily removable. Availability concerns for larger sizes.

This is a good product, it has just about the right drying time for my needs. I usually cut it with a little odorless thinner to keep it from gelling over during multi-day paint sessions. When it does gel, it scrapes and lifts out of my tin with a palette knife.

Have been using Gamblin products almost exclusively for close to 30 years, essential to my painting practice. What bugs me though, is that Gamblin’s largest sizes of Galkyd aren’t coming in to Vancouver right now, and I hope that situation changes. Also regret the disappearance of Gamblin Fast Matte pigments up here, even though some of the last ones were so stiff they were hard to squeeze out of the tube. But they’re so useful!
