The story behind Mudtools

Clay tools made by a potter, for potters.

Ceramic artist Michael Sherrill kept making or modifying tools to suit his own work, and those tools became indispensable. In 1995 he started Mudtools so other clay artists could use them too.

Made in the mountains of western North Carolina, each rib shape comes in a range of flexibilities to suit your clay and your style.

Try it in the studio

Use a soft rib to compress the rim and smooth throwing lines, and a firmer rib to shape walls with control.
