The story behind Lascaux

Swiss acrylics many professionals consider the finest made, in two ranges.

Lascaux was founded in 1963 near Zurich by Alois K. Diethelm, a trained painter-decorator, and the company credits him with introducing the first acrylic artists' paint on the European continent. It shares its name with the cave in France famous for some of the oldest paintings known. Lascaux also makes products for conservators who restore art and cultural heritage, and that rigour runs through everything it makes.

We carry two ranges. Lascaux Artist acrylics are considered by many professionals to be the finest made, with colour that stays brilliant years after it is applied.
